Title of the paper :
Perceptions of Otherness: The Estrangement of Self in CB Divakarunis The Unknown Errors of Our Lives
Abstract:
Identity is a multifaceted construct intricately linked to various socio-cultural determinants, including but not limited to race, class, religion, and national affiliation. It plays a pivotal role in shaping the cognitive awareness within an individuals psyche. The sense of alienation and rootlessness that comes along with exile often strangulates the process of identity formation. Along with the challenges emanating from historical phenomena such as slavery, imperialism, colonialism, and subjugation as both an insider and outsider that contribute to the complications in the establishment of identity within a diasporic setting, migrants are also prone to experiences of fear and anxiety that jeopardize their psychological well-being.
