Title of the paper :
Diaspora and Immigration
Abstract:
Literature plays a prominent role in reflecting and shaping the society. Literary works are the depiction of reality and mirror of social trends. Whereas, Diasporic literature is the voice of the voiceless who find themselves beyond the borders of their native country. It mostly focuses on the lives of the immigrants and their experiences while navigating life in a foreign land distant from their native environment. The paper aims to explore the themes of diaspora and immigration in Jhumpa Lahiris The Third and Final Continent, which illuminates the impact of immigration on shaping the identity, culture, and community life of the protagonist. It also highlights the challenges of diasporic individuals as they balance with their new surroundings while maintaining connections to their countries of origin. Ultimately, the research aims to enhance our understanding of diaspora and immigration in reshaping identities and communities in todays globalized world.
