Title of the paper :
Leveraging the Kerala Diaspora in Culinary Vlogging: Strategies and Impacts of Kerala Food Bloggers
Abstract:
Kerala food bloggers are increasingly leveraging the global Kerala diaspora to enhance the reach and authenticity of their culinary content. By focusing on traditional recipes, local street foods, and regional specialties, these bloggers tap into the nostalgic memories of the diaspora. They creatively demonstrate how Kerala dishes can be prepared with globally available ingredients, catering to those living outside Kerala who may lack access to authentic local produce. Collaborative efforts with diaspora members further diversify the content, bringing unique perspectives and experiences from around the world. By producing content in both Malayalam and English, these bloggers make their work accessible to a wider audience, including second-generation diaspora members. Additionally, their engagement with viewers abroad through personalized responses and the inclusion of cultural narratives strengthens the connection with their audience. This strategic approach not only preserves and promotes Keralas rich culinary heritage but also helps in growing a global community centred around Keralas food culture. This paper analyses how Kerala food bloggers are increasingly leveraging the global Kerala diaspora to enhance the reach and authenticity of their culinary content.
