Infinite Horizons: Avatar : The Way of Water as a Metaphor for Diasporic Displacement
Abstract:
Diaspora refers to the dynamic, complex and often fraught processes of dispersal and displacement of individual or group from there ancestral homeland to other worlds. There are several factors that have accelerated cross border migration economic crisis, environmental degradation, human rights violation and creation of transnation communities that negotiate multiple identities. Diaspora is not just a physical displacement,but also a cultural and emotional one Rusdie. The people who migrated also experienced the horror of Alienation , isolation, loss of Identity, rootlessness and difficulties to establish a new mode of life. The Diaspora is a state of mind, a sense of belonging to multiple places and culture Bhaba. Diasporic studies is an inter disciplinary field that research and examine culture, identities and experience of diasporic communities. This studies explore the complex, economic and cultural dynamics that shape the lives of diasporic communities how they adapt and transform their cultural practices and how they faces the issues like oppression and racism.
